Tax opponents a no-show as school board OKs budget

The Greenville County Schools board on Tuesday unanimously approved a 3.3% ad valorem tax increase on businesses, motor vehicles and property other than owner-occupied homes. The vote was held after a public hearing where nobody spoke against the measure. The $537 million budget for the fiscal year that starts July 1 includes raises of at least 3% for employees of the state’s largest public school system. Read more…
