A beverage producer is expanding its campus in Greer with the addition of a new warehouse and distribution center.
Cott Beverages, a subsidiary of Cott Corp., started construction on a 190,000-square-foot facility located adjacent to its existing manufacturing facility in Greer.
“This project was a result of a joint effort by many individuals and is a testament to the city of Greer and its culture of supporting the economic prosperity of its business and citizens,” Wise said.
The facility in Greer produces fruit and vegetable juices and beverages for national brand and retailer brand customers.
The Cott Corp. — headquartered in Tampa, Fla. — operates 60 manufacturing facilities and 180 distribution facilities while employing more than 9,000 worldwide.
The company said the addition will help alleviate traffic congestion on local roads. They expect to eliminate approximately 30 tractor-trailers each weekday in each direction on Wade Hampton Boulevard between Greer and Taylors.
“We see this expansion and organic growth from established area businesses to be a good indication of the overall thriving business climate in the area,” said Greer Mayor Rick Danner.
The new facility will represent a $10 million investment by the company.
“We are thrilled that Cott Beverages is adding a warehouse and distribution center to their already established manufacturing facility in Greer,” said Dick Wilkerson, chairman of the Greenville Area Development Corp.
