Partnering with developer Allen Cullum, Beacon Partners of Charlotte has broken ground on a 240,020-square-foot spec industrial building at Greer. The planned class A space at 545 Brookshire Road is about 2 miles from Interstate 85, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and the S.C. Inland Port. The project is expected to be finished in February.
Sean McDonnell of Beacon Partners said the project “offers a great opportunity for us to better serve the increasing demand for class A space in Greenville-Spartanburg and along the I-85 corridor.”
Situated less than a mile from S.C. Highway 101, the building offers early-suppression, fast-response sprinkler system, 32-foot clear height and a 185-foot truck area to accommodate on-site trailer parking and ample parking for employees. Tenants are being sought, said Beacon Partners spokeswoman Robin Bookmiller.
Cullum, who has longtime family ties to Greer, is developer of nearby Velocity Park.
“Quality sites and buildings are the fuel that powers Greer’s economic development machine,” Mayor Rick Danner said. “We are truly grateful to Mr. Cullum and Beacon Partners for their commitment to attracting new industry to Greer. Their investment will yield new, high-paying jobs in Greer for years to come.”
Beacon’s recent expansion activity in South Carolina totals more than 1 million square feet of development and acquisition, including acquisition of distribution facilities totaling 350,000 square feet in Spartanburg County.
